Behavior & Training
It's probably not surprising that behavior issues are a common concern among pet owners. As veterinarians, we focus on improving your pet's quality of life - but we can't forget pets affect your quality of life too! We've provided a variety of literature here to help you understand your pet better, train them better...and train yourself better too.
Please do realize, though, that while the many common behavior problems can be solved with simple training techniques, some really do require professional help. Sometimes behavior problems are really signs of serious medical issues. Other times, the problem may be behavioral but much to complicated to deal with effectively (and safely) without professional help. Sometimes they really do need medication, too - after all, behavior is the end result of cues in the environment being translated into chemical signals in the brain, and there are drugs that may help clean that "chemical translation" up.
